The Lights of Christmas
St Stephen’s comes alive this Christmas.Gather on the lawn at St Stephen’s Cathedral, in the heart of Brisbane, to celebrate the joy of Christmas with an extraordinary sound and light projection show. The Lights of Christmas is a free event open to
the public that will delight families with music, food and children's activities every evening from Wednesday 11 December through until Christmas Eve. See brochures in the churches.
AMALGAMATION OF CABOOLTURE AND STANLEY RIVER PARISHES
Many of you participated in the consultation process and voting of a new name for the amalgamated parish as proposed earlier this year. As previously noted, the Steering Committee had a number of meetings and drafted a proposal to the Archbishop for his consideration and approval.
Earlier this week, the Archbishop has agreed to the proposal for Stanley River and Caboolture Parishes to amalgamate to form a new parish called: Living Waters Parish effective from the beginning of January 2020.
This means that there is a significant amount of administrative and background work to do with a number of activities already underway. There will be a number of requests to parishioners who are doing various ministries both before Christmas and up to the end of the calendar year, so your cooperation and quick responses would be greatly appreciated to make this as seamless as possible. It is anticipated that there will be more details in next week’s newsletter.
